I believe that we need to have a meeting in July, to discuss two issues:
1) 1394.3 Printing Profile
As we discussed at the New York City, we should create a Printing Profile document to assure interoperability between 1394.3 printers and hosts that wish to take advantage of those printers. I have begun to see questions and problems arising due to the lack of such a document.
2) 1394.3 API
Some issues have arisen around multi-instance initiators. As I have considered these issues, I have come to the conclusion that they are part of a larger issue around the API, specifically: how does an application access a particular service in a particular instance on a particular device?
Chuck Rice and I commit to providing proposals for each of these two issues by June 30, which is two weeks before the San Francisco meeting. I believe the discussion of these two proposals is important enough to justify meeting.
