Hi John,

The draft document is what the PWG refers to as a "Registration". I was hoping that it would be approved by the end of this calendar year, but its scope and details have taken a bit longer to work out than I had expected (always happens...) and so I'm hoping it will be approved by the end of Q1 2025.

The process we use for authoring and approving a Registration is much more streamlined than the process we use for authoring and approving a PWG Candidate Standard. At its simplest, it is an email request asking for the registration of additional values (keywords, enumerated values, etc.) for existing attributes. In some cases it can be used to define a small collection of attributes or a single operation.

I'm hoping once approved the attributes and operations will be added to IPP Everywhere v2.0, which is still in development and we hope to have completed by the end of 2025.

Please do attend our Face to Face meeting if you have time! No registration or fee is required! Here's the Webex information and I'll send you the password:

Smith,

In regards to IPP Firmware Update Extensions v1., is there an IPP
version this is planned to be rolled into? I think this is an excellent
idea and one very well needed. The reason I ask is that we may be
purchasing new printers in

the near future and would like to request the vendor at least have plans
to implement this.:-)

Changes mostly were focused on updating the set of diagrams in section
for "Model".
