Pradi,
My apologies if it is difficult to get a clear overview of the IPP
documentation,
but see my reading advice below.
Hope this helps you to get through to the basic stuff that you are looking
for.

Subject: Examples
Hello,
Q: Is there any way to get hold of pseudo code that shows
how to "print to" IPP capable printer?
A: Not at present, but we are discussing to get an
open source project for IPP clients set up.
You may want to look at the free Xerox code at:
http://www.xerox.com/go/xrx/software/overview.jsp?id=IPP&cat=%2fSoftware%2fS
oftware+Associated+with+Xerox+Products
Note: Very long URL going over several lines, which you will need to
concatenate to one long URL in your browser.
Q: I have read RFCs but it is confusing.
A: The two main RFCs currently published are:
RFC2566 and RFC2565, the other RFCs provide
background and additional info.
If you are starting implementation now, you should use
the following two IPP/12.1 drafts instead, which have been
accepted by the IESG as Proposed Internet Standards, but
are still waiting to come out as RFCs:
Internet Printing Protocol/1.1: Model and Semantics
<draft-ietf-ipp-model-v11-07.txt>
Internet Printing Protocol/1.1: Encoding and Transport
<draft-ietf-ipp-protocol-v11-06.txt>
Q: Is there any application notes?
A: You may want to read RFC 2567 to get some background to
the scenarios IPP is trying to address.
If you want implementation hints, you will find additional
information in:
Internet Printing Protocol/1.1: Implementer's Guide
<draft-ietf-ipp-implementers-guide-v11-01.txt>
Q: Is protocol only ment for Big Docutech printers?
what about small network printers?
What is bare minimum system?
A: Read Section 5 Conformance of:
Internet Printing Protocol/1.1: Model and Semantics
<draft-ietf-ipp-model-v11-07.txt>
Only the features listed as MUST make up the absolute minimum
requirements, by also pay attention to the SHOULD ones, which
are also strongly recommended, but not absolutely required.
There are already a number of low end IPP products on the market,
including $300 print servers, and complete printers with IPP in
the below $1,000 bracket.
Q: I am sorry to ask these questions.. but documentation
could be simplified.
A: We have considered writing an informational overview document,
but so far we have been too busy trying to get all the technical
documentation finished off. Maybe one day soon...
Q: Thank you for any hint, guidance, pointers.
A: Hope the above pointers are helpful. Please note that there are
a number of other Internet-Drafts on various extensions, such as
notifications and additional operations for administration etc.,
but all of these are considered as optional extensions to the
two basic IPP documents listed above. However, some of them might
become mandatory in a future version of IPP, beyond the current
IPP/1.1 version.
