In an ICC work flow the profile should say it all, but all data which
identifies
the specific situation in which the profile was made is
welcome. Indeed stuff like dithering style, gamma, resolution,
etc. Also I think it would be nice to add a ID (like a checksum) in both
profile
and data, so that a check is possible whether the profile matches
its use. This may also be used as an ID to find the profile.

Subject: UPD> color brainstorming
I have started cleaning our current dtd for better preparation of color
support.
We need to do some more investigation, what kind of information we want to
save and what information an IHV would make public anyhow, as everybody can
read an XML file easily.
So I intend a two-days brainstorming (today and tomorrow). Please contribute
what you would like to see for color support and get your experts involved.
I am looking for a simple, informal list of features (dithering matrixes,
gamma correction formula, ICC file support and things like that).
Hoping to get some feedback, I may do a sample implementation in our dtd
structure over the week-end, which then can be discussed by some better
experts than I am. But then they have something to start from.
Just start throwing simple, short emails in with the subject 'color ideas'.
