Just wanted to let everyone know that I sent the following e-mail to IANA.
There response below indicates that it might take awhile.

Subject: 1394 PWG Services
Hello,
My name is Alan Berkema and I am the Vice Chair of the 1394 Printer
Working Group.
In October we will submit A Project Autorization Request to the IEEE in
order to publish a standard
protocol for image devices over IEEE 1394. Our specification is called
the Peer to Peer Data Transport.
Part of the specification requires the use of ASCII strings that
decscribe image "services". Our working
group suggested that IANA would be a good place to register these
service names.
Can IANA help?
Thanks,
Alan Berkema
