    A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
    directories.
This draft is a work item of the Internet Printing Protocol Working Group of
    the IETF.

Title : Internet Printing Protocol (IPP): LDAP Schema for
    Printer Services
            Author(s) : P. Fleming, K. Jones, H. Lewis, I. McDonald
            Filename : draft-ietf-ipp-ldap-printer-schema-05.txt
            Pages : 26
            Date : 29-Aug-01

This document provides information for the Internet community. It
does not specify an Internet standard of any kind. This document
defines an LDAP schema, object classes and attributes, for printers
and printer services, for use with directories that support
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAPv3) [RFC2251].

A URL for this Internet-Draft is:
    http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-ipp-ldap-printer-schema-05.tx
    t

Internet-Drafts are also available by anonymous FTP. Login with the username
"anonymous" and a password of your e-mail address. After logging in,
    type "cd internet-drafts" and then
            "get draft-ietf-ipp-ldap-printer-schema-05.txt".

A list of Internet-Drafts directories can be found in
    http://www.ietf.org/shadow.html
    or ftp://ftp.ietf.org/ietf/1shadow-sites.txt

Internet-Drafts can also be obtained by e-mail.

    Send a message to:
            mailserv@ietf.org.
    In the body type:
            "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-ietf-ipp-ldap-printer-schema-05.txt".

NOTE: The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
            how to manipulate these messages.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the
    Internet-Draft.

Hi folks, Tuesday (28 August 2001)

I've just sent a new version of 'IPP: LDAP Schema for Printer Services'
to the Internet-Drafts editor and posted a copy on the PWG server in the
    directory 'ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/new_LDAP/' in the file:

        draft-ietf-ipp-ldap-printer-schema-05.txt (August 2001)

Changes are described in my note to the I-D Editor below.

Carl-Uno Manros (IETF IPP WG chair) will notify the IESG and our IETF
Applications Area Directors that this document is ready for publication
as an IETF Informational RFC (normal practice for LDAP schema documents)
as requested by our IETF reviewer Kurt Zeilenga (OpenLDAP) and our IETF
    Apps AD Patrik Faltstrom (Cisco).

    I-D Editor, Tuesday (28 August 2001)

    IETF IPP WG:

Please place this document in the Internet-Drafts repository named:

        <draft-ietf-ipp-ldap-printer-schema-05.txt> (August 2001)

    It replaces the previous:

        <draft-ietf-ipp-ldap-printer-schema-04.txt> (December 2000)

This document defines a translation of the SLP 'printer' template to an
equivalent LDAP 'printer' schema. It is a a conforming superset of
Appendix E 'Generic Directory Schema' IPP/1.1 Model, RFC 2911, September
    2000.

    This draft has been updated: a) to label the Category as Informational;
    b) to add Section 6 'Definition of Matching Rules'; c) to correct typos;
and d) to correct references to various RFCs.

    Thanks very much,
    - Ira McDonald (IPP WG member, co-editor of LDAP printer schema)
