IPP, FTP and HTTP printing are separate topics..

    IPP describes IPP printing.

Many printers support printnig via FTP (but as far as I know there is no defined
    standard).
    HTTP printing is not common.

A printer is free to accept whatever data it likes. The spec does not specify
the support for any data types. You can however query the printer to see if it
    does support PS.

Subject: IPP> ftp and http ???? (help anyone)

Are ftp and http part of IPP 1.1 specs. Will all ftp printer/server
support ftp of print jobs. What I mean is that if there is an IPP 1.1
compatible printer, will I be able to ftp to it so that the transmitted
    data is printed.

Also do IPP compliant printer/server always accept PostScript(PS) binary
    data.

    Regards.
