There was insufficient attendance at the 26 Oct call to justify as a WIMS
conference, although Ira did call in and (as he indicated in his message) we
did discuss some issues with the Power Monitor Model document. Ira intends
to post an updated version in time for a call next Monday and I strongly
suggest that anyone interested in Imaging Equipment Power Management (which
should be everyone concerned with imaging device manufacture and management)
review this document and attend the call. Ira is proceeding with the Power
MIB. Looking ahead, he will not be available November 9. November 23 and
November 30 tend to tie into the Thanksgiving holiday. The next face-to-face
is December 8. So it is likely that we will have WIMS concalls only on
November 2, and November 16 before the next face-to-face. Please plan to
participate next Monday!.
Thanks,
Bill Wagner

Subject: 26 Oct Conference Call - 2PM EDT
The next WIMS conference call is set for 2PM ET on Monday 26 October.
September. At the face-to-face meeting, it was suggested that both the IEEE
1284 Device ID Command and the Power Management Model have existing
implementations, and so may be fast-tracked. Ira has posted a Prototype
level version of the PWG Power Management Model at:
<ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/wims/wd/wd-wimspower10-20091022.pdf>
ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/wims/wd/wd-wimspower10-20091022.pdf / doc - clean
copy
<ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/wims/wd/wd-wimspower10-20091022-rev.pdf>
ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/wims/wd/wd-wimspower10-20091022-rev.pdf / doc -
redlines
And that should be a primary subject of discussion.
As of now, the minutes for the face-to-face have not been posted.
Please email me if you need phone number and/or password.
Agenda:
1. Identify Minute-taker
2. Statement that meeting is held in accord with PWG IP Policy
3. Accept Minutes of October 13 Face-to-face meeting (if available).
4. Check on action items:
Ø Mike Fenelon of Microsoft would check on Microsofts preferred reference
for the langXPS addition to IANA registry.
Ø Progress on IEEE 1284 Device ID Command document
Ø Progress on Power Management Model
Ø Progress on CIM Print Service Classes and generation of change requests
5. Discussion of Iras latest Power Management Spec draft (
