Any questions for Rick?
5. April Face-to-face meeting planning.
We have Tuesday Morning, 28 April, from 9 to 10:45 EDT, to discuss WIMS
issues and plans, and the Power Management BoF. Some of this will be a
wrapup of the Proxy Provider effort, and some will be discussing the state
of the Power Management project investigation. At the last conference call,
we started discussion on the talking point below. I think the general
consensus was that we need to consider REAL use cases in developing
solutions. The problems is how to gather these real use cases (or uses
desired by the customers). I suggest that this may be a valid topic as we
consider next steps for WIMS.
The WIMS session does overlap the Registration/Continental breakfast period
of the Managed Print Services Conference in San Antonio (8:00 to 8:30 CDT.).
Ed Crowley might have some idea on how some interaction may be established
either at this time, or in some other way. This may be a path to getting
real or at least desired use cases.
Talking Point: Recent discussions on the Linked-in MPS group have suggested
that managing imaging services seems increasingly to be becoming an IT
department responsibility. Whether or not we proceed with the Imaging Power
Management project, this may affect the way we address Imaging System
Management.
Thanks,
Bill Wagner
