1. Continued discussion of last call changes to the protocol document. A draft reflecting Ira's proposed changes and my embelishments is posted at:
ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/wims/wd/wd-wims10-20060210.pdf
Continuation of last week's discussion as to whether chaining proxies must be or inherently is limited to the management operation ExecuteAction. Ira maintains that acting on schedules through chained proxies, for example, gets cumbersome and difficult. I agree, but this appears to me to be an implementation decision.
There is the further question as to whether a WIMS-WIMSproxy may just be an agent and manager, internally linked; whether it can internally be a different sort of device that accepts, modifies in accord with some sort of intelligence, and passes on commands and responses without (for example) any agent ability to store and execute schedules; or whether it can be anything that supports the agent and manager interfaces in a may allowing the effectuve relay of commands and responses.
Agreement on these issues, or on avoidance of these issuesis necessary since the protocol document reflects a bias which may not represent the view of the working group as a whole.
2. We should also include some further consideration of last call changes to the schema (re Ira's message of 13 Feb):
