Passcode: 2635888#
For those who may have missed last week's call, Rick's information on CIM handling of change requests and Ira's analysis of the current CIM Printing MOF's prompted a change in the approach outlined previously. Instead of generating a "pipe cleaner" change submission or non-controversial description information in the Printer Device MOF, the process is accelerated by doing an overall review of all Printing elements to identify proposed changes to align the MOFs with the Printer MIB V2 and IPP. Proposed changes will be grouped into four categories that Ira used.
Editorial Changes
Technical Changes
Issues
Technical Extensions
These "identifications" of issues, with some explanation but not necessarily with a complete presentation of the proposed change, will be presented to the CIM contacts, and they would be asked the best way to getting the incorporation of the changes.
Tentative Agenda is:
1. acceptance of the last meeting's Minutes: ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/wims/minutes/cim_050728.pdf
2. Review of Progress on scheduled items. Contact with Mr. Crandel (?) of CIM organization.
3. Review of Ira's document ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/wims/wd/wd-wimscimprint10-20050728.htm, considerating the CIM Printing MOFs. The posted "flatClassessHTML_CIM2.9_20050330.zip" tool. at ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/tools/ is a great help in analyzing the CIM documents.
6. Next steps. Solitation of Volunteers to review each CIM Printing MOF with the intent of identifying potential update areas for alignment with the Printer MIB , IPP and other established aspects of Printer Semantics.
