Hi,
Thanks to Waldo Bastian (Intel/OSDL) for passing on this important
news for the Linux and UNIX open printing environment!
The Artifex Ghostscript versus CUPS ESP Ghostscript fork has been
a difficulty for better open printing support for some time - perhaps
these forks can now be harmonized.
Please take a few moments to read Raph's posting referenced in
Waldo's note below.
Cheers,
- Ira

Subject: [Desktop_printing] Ghostscript leading edge is now GPL!
Some nice news on the ghostscript front. Ghostscript used to have a staged
release process where new releases where first released under the AFPL and
only after a year under the GPL. This approach led to a fork by people who
needed to get patches in the GPL version. It's great to see that this has
been resolved.
