The IWL software currently only supports receiving traps on the standard
SNMP trap port (162). There is no way that it could have been configured
to receive traps on a different port.

On a Unix system, if you try to run a test that expects to receive traps
and you are not running as root, the test will fail with a "Failed to set
trap callback (are you root?)" message in the "Remarks" section, so
someone most likely would have noticed this. Additionally, most of the
vendors were running the tests under Windows, not on the SPARC. Windows
doesn't have this restriction on the priviledged range. (Not sure about
WinNT offhand, since it does have an Administrator, but Win95 certainly
doesn't).
Btw, the tests in question are numbers 5.10.1, 5.10.2, 5.10.3 and 5.10.4
if that'll help you look up the results that were obtained.
