Greetings,
I have posted an updated draft of IPP Authentication Methods to the IPP FTP site:
https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/whitepaper/tb-ippauth-20180123.pdf
https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/whitepaper/tb-ippauth-20180123.odt
https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/whitepaper/tb-ippauth-20180123-rev.pdf
https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/whitepaper/tb-ippauth-20180123-rev.odt
Changes include:
- Fixed editorial issues identified by Mike Sweet in earlier feedback
- Added new sub-section for Transport Layer Security authentication
- Added to Implementation Recommendations and Security Considerations, including adding sub-sections for specifying the expected behavior in the event of authentication failure, specifically whether the IPP operation response should be sent by the Printer if the connection is still open
- Added many RFC references
Please review at your convenience, and we can discuss in a future IPP WG teleconference.
Cheers,
Smith
