All,
Tom Hastings has made yet another marathon editing round and the latest
versions of IPP/1.1 should show up from the IETF secretariat shortly. The
other text formats will be made in a day or two and then everything will be
put up on the PWG server.
Here are the new Titles:
Internet Printing Protocol/1.1: Model and Semantics
<draft-ietf-ipp-model-v11-04.txt>
Internet Printing Protocol/1.1: Encoding and Transport
<draft-ietf-ipp-protocol-v11-03.txt>
The main changes to the documents are:
1) We will run into trouble with normative references to the IPP/1.1 RFCs,
so after consultation with Scott Bradner in the IESG we have softened the
language a bit, but it is still clear that IPP/1.1 implementers are expected
to also support and interwork with IPP/1.0.
2) We have updated the HTTP/1.1 references to reflect the latest HTTP/1.1
RFCs.
3) We have replaced our description of how to use TLS over HTTP with a
reference to a brand new document from the TLS WG (or rather some remains
thereof as the TLS WG has been closed). This document is expected to now
progress to the IETF standards track in parallel with our own. A small error
occurred when referencing that document from our Encoding and Transport
document, we call it version -02, but it turns out that the correct version
number is -01. A pointer to the correct version of the document was
forwarded to the IPP DL earlier today.
