All,
I have posted an updated Common Use Cases draft for tomorrow's Cloud Imaging telecon at:
ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/general/wd/wd-commonusecases10-20110619.docxftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/general/wd/wd-commonusecases10-20110619.pdfftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/general/wd/wd-commonusecases10-20110619-rev.pdf
The updated draft DOES NOT address all of the discussions we've had since the face-to-face, and in particular I have not converted any of the more complex use cases to scenarios yet.
In order to make some constructive progress on this document, I would like to do the following:
1. Revisit our discussions about focusing on the broad scenarios - after spending a great deal of time trying to come up with a broad printing scenario that included all of the use cases I came to the conclusion that such a scenario is too confusing to be useful.
2. Read through the MFD Requirements use cases. They are here:
ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/informational/req-mfdreq10-20100901.pdf
I still like the idea of having a framework that encompasses a high-level use case ("select a printer") along with specific example/concrete use cases ("select the last used printer", "select a printer using a directory service", etc.) - there the high-level use case is not overly broad and can be used to build specific scenarios. I also think the MFD Requirements use cases can form the basis of our "generic" scenarios.
