Greetings,
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I've just posted a new draft of IPP Firmware Update Extensions v1.0 for review. The new draft is here:</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>
<div> <a href="https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/wd/wd-ippfwupdate-20240911.pdf">https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/wd/wd-ippfwupdate-20240911.pdf</a> </div>
<div> <a href="https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/wd/wd-ippfwupdate-20240911.docx">https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/wd/wd-ippfwupdate-20240911.docx</a> </div>
<div> <a href="https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/wd/wd-ippfwupdate-20240911-rev.pdf">https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/wd/wd-ippfwupdate-20240911-rev.pdf</a> </div>
<div> <a href="https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/wd/wd-ippfwupdate-20240911-rev.docx">https://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/wd/wd-ippfwupdate-20240911-rev.docx</a></div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Changes include:</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>
<ul class="MailOutline">
<li>Updated the definition of "Firmware" using PWG 5110.1 definition and added reference;</li><li>Changed headings of use cases;</li><li>Moved Successful firmware update from use cases to exceptions;</li><li>Updated the Model and updated the figures;</li><li>Added the "delay-update-until" and "delay-update-until-time" operation attributes, and changed the name of the operation to "Update-Printer-Firmware" operation;</li><li>Added the Check-For-Firmware-Update operation because having a Get-Printer-Attributes do the check as a side effect of requesting a particular Printer Status attribute seemed like a bad idea; and</li><li>Added additional keywords for the "printer-state-reasons" Printer Status attribute.</li></ul>
</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>We may need to discuss whether there is just one firmware update, or if multiple firmware updates need to be reported, in which case some of this may want to be refactored into a collection to avoid a collection of "1setOf" attributes with matching arities,
which we've had to use in the past for incidental reasons but which I personally find to be distasteful.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Look forward to your thoughts!</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Cheers,</div>
