<br><br><div dir="ltr"><div><div><div><div><div><div><div>Hi Mike,<br><br></div>On PWG FTP server:<br><a href="http://goog_1623777675" target="_blank"><br></a></div><a href="ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/new_PRO/rfc2910.doc" target="_blank">ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/new_PRO/rfc2910.doc</a><br>
<br><a href="ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/new_MOD/rfc2911.doc" target="_blank">ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/ipp/new_MOD/rfc2911.doc</a><br><br></div><div>These MS Word sources did *not* follow the recommended template<br>for RFC sources (RFC 5385). <br>
<br>Tom Hastings or Bob Herriot did a print to plaintext (via a long-gone<br>MS text driver I've forgotten the name of) which produced just awful<br>results (some lines with dozens of fragments delimited by widowed<br>
</div><div>CRs inline).<br></div><div><br>Then we cleaned up the text with my C tool "overx.c" (attached). Then we cleaned up control and 8-bit characters with my C tool<br>"cscan.c" (attached). Then we searched for remaining overlength <br>
lines (greater than 72 characters) with my C tool "maxln.c" (attached). <br></div><div><br></div>Unfortunately, Google didn't help me find the tool that I know exists<br>to convert published RFCs to XML2RFC markup format.<br>
<br></div>Lastly, here's a cool recent RFC about the format and markup issues<br></div>in the future for the RFC Series:<br><br><a href="http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc6949.txt" target="_blank">http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc6949.txt</a><br>
