PWG MIB Work Group |
---|
A Management Information Base (MIB) defines a framework for
the management of systems using the IETF standard "Simple Network
Management Protocol" (SNMP). MIB objects provide the ability to monitor
and control systems, providing fault, configuration and performance
management. PWG MIBs allow network users to utilize SNMP and existing SNMP infrastructure to manage networked imaging devices. The working group has completed the development of MIB standards for the management of printers, finishing devices, and imaging jobs. For example, the Job Monitoring MIB provides job related information to end users and system operators plus accounting information at the end of a job. The PWG MIBs working group has been incorporated into the PWG WIMS (Workgroup for Imaging Management Solutions) working group, which will continue to support any future MIB development efforts and to maintain the related IANA registrations. The pmp@pwg.org mailing list remains active and monitored. |
The PWG MIBs Working Group was chartered to
support current and future
work items related to the SNMP management of imaging systems. |

MIB issues are discussed at the WIMS
sessions at Face-to-Face
meetings and during WIMS conference calls. Please see PWG
Meeting Calendar for schedule of conference calls. |
